JOHN Bentley, the former England and British Lions player, is to host a training session at Ambleside RUFC on Saturday, December 11 for the Westmorland Barbarians Under-16 and Under-14 sides.
Spectators are wecome to attend the the training session, following which Bentley is the guests at a fund-raising Sportsman’s Evening at Windermere Social Club, also attended by Cumbria RUFC President John Owen, Past President Of England RFU.
The evening starts at 7.30pm and includes a supper and an auction of rugby memorabilia.

After starting the season with four defeats, the Wesmorland Barbarians have recorded three wins - 12-5 at Kirkby Lonsdale, 31-0 at Wigton and 22-0 at Annan in Scotland.
The next fixture is next Sunday, November 21 at home to Hawcoat Park, kick off (11am kick-off).
On December 4 the team will travel to Twickenham to watch the Barbarians play South Africa.
