KENDAL'S South African fly-half Charl Van Molendorff has ruled himself out for the rest of the season in the build-up to Saturday's National League match against Darlington Mowden Park at Mint Bridge.
Kendal coach Neil Rollings said Van Molendorff, who played the second half at Blaydon last Saturday, had sent him a text message before Tuesday's training session.
It stated he had injured a finger in an accident at work and had been advised it would need operating upon, forcing him out for the rest of the season.
Van Molendorff had played only one match before a six-week lay-off with a broken thumb.
Rollings said: "It leaves us lamenting how unfortunately injury-prone he was in his short time with us."
Kendal, who are bidding to end an eight-match losing league sequence, field a largely unchanged side otherwise, with Jason Balmer returning on the wing.
Chris Park, who came off injured against Blaydon, is on the bench along with second-row Andrew Hudson, who is returning from a chest cartilage injury.

Replacements: I. Ross, A. Hudson, G. Muckalt, C. Park.
The match, sponsored by R. G. Parkin and Partners, kicks off at 2.15pm.
Blaydon............. 45 Kendal................. 7 KENDAL travelled across to the North-East to play Blaydon, who are unbeaten at their Crow Trees ground this season, and once again came away empty-handed.
After an early injury to winger Chris Park, who was replaced by Graham Muckalt, Kendal showed promising signs when they retained possession through several phases of play to work the ball upfield.
However, having made good ground the visitors were undone when they forced a pass which was not on and Blaydon hooker Matthew Hall intercepted and showed a surprising turn of pace to cover 60 metres, brushing off a couple of weak tackles in the process to score a try which was converted by stand-off Richard Windle.
Shell-shocked by this score against the run of play, Kendal conceded two further tries in quick succession.
Firstly centre Sua Segi ran a crash ball move close to the Kendal tryline which took him over the whitewash, then a minute later Windle went on a rampaging run down the right wing which saw him score wide out. He converted both tries to give his side a 21-0 lead.
Kendal should have scored their first points two minutes later when full back Simon Mulholland broke clear from midfield but failed to link up with winger Dennis Bibby up in good support and the opportunity was lost.
Blaydon secured the bonus point for scoring four tries when centre Martin Shaw, who was a thorn in Kendal's side all afternoon, crossed the tryline six minutes before half time. Windle again converted.
Kendal started the second half in better fashion, retaining the ball for the opening 15 minutes of the half but, without a cutting edge to open up the home defence, they were unable to score any points.
Scrum-half Jimmy Thompson went closest on a sniping run which took him to within a metre of the tryline before he was hauled down by a cover tackle.
Blaydon's points-scoring machine was in action five minutes later with their first foray into the Kendal half. Winger James Kyle touched down for an unconverted score.
Sua Segi scored his second try seven minutes later, which was converted to take Blaydon's tally to 40 points.
Kendal managed to get points on the board when after some good build-up play Mulholland scrambled the ball across the line. Replacement stand-off Charl Van Molendorff converted.
Full back Michael Campbell then scored Blaydon's seventh and final try to move them up to joint second place in the league table.
