GOOD pressure from the home pack saw Andrew Boardley stroke over three early penalties. Dan Bowman returned from injury and was influential and his clever offload in the tackle allowed Adrian Nutter to score a try by the posts, Boardley converting.
Crisp passing in midfield saw Nick Michilini and Warren Tilsley combined to release Evan Onyango for an irresistible run to the line, Boardley again converting.
Kendal were threatening to run away with the match but had to dig deep in defence after Blaydon rallied with two converted tries. Steve Bowman drove in a wedge to force a defensive scrum, from which Steve Woof pounced on a loose ball to score.
Kendal's final try came when Nigel Pearson and Matt Belshaw linked to release Onyango for a blistering run-in, Boardley adding the extras.
The third team, whose game was cancelled, filled the subs' bench and played their part in an open and entertaining contest.
