KENDAL had high hopes for their Cumbria League fixture against Barrow off the back of last week's high scoring game and they were not disappointed with a 9-1 victory.
A diving strike from Abby Richardson gave Kendal the perfect start as they found their tempo on the Ulverston pitch straight away and the goals kept coming.
Two in close succession from Rachel Elleray followed and Barrow keeper stopped several other chances before Sarah Brooks added to Kendal's score and Nicky Jones, having her best game of the season, added to the tally.
Barrow managed to scrape a goal back but Kendal's hard-working midfield supplied the forwards well and Andrea Elvey scored from the near post and Kirsty Ormrod also got on the scoresheet to make it 7-1 at half time.
Barrow faced a hard battle for possession on the restart, but it was a more even contest overall in the second half. Kendal took their chances with Nicky Jones scoring twice to secure a hat-trick and the player-point in an impressive match.
