Ulverston....................2 Dalston........................2 ULVERSTON Ladies wanted a Cumbria League win against Dalston for a return to the top five, but a last-minute goal left them deflated as they drew 2-2.
Down to 10 available players when their goalkeeper went ill, Ulverston conceded a scrappy goal in the opening minutes.
Ulverston's fortunes improved late on in the first half when Sue Hool met Lynn Fitzwilliam's pass with a thunderous strike to level the scores.
Straight away in the second half a second Ulverston goal put them 2-1 ahead.
A good ball into the D from Nikki Satterthwaite found Fitzwilliam and she took on and beat the keeper with a reversed side-flick.
Stand-in keeper Sophie Dodd made some excellent saves but Dalston sneaked a winning goal from a twice cleared short corner in the dying seconds.
Ambleside....................1 Penrith.........................0 A LATE goal gave Ambleside a 1-0 victory in a keen contest with Penrith.
Although there was action at both ends in the first half with Ambleside having slightly more of the chances, neither side was able to capitalise before the break.
The match remained deadlocked until five minutes from the end when Sue Conway cleared the ball from the edge of Ambleside's defensive circle to find her daughter Nicola on the halfway line.
Nicola passed to Amanda Faulkner, who raced on, drew the keeper and squared a pass for Nicola to score.
Sheelagh Newell had a strong game at left defence for Ambleside and Hazel Jones and Lauren Roberts did a lot of running in midfield.
Nicola Conway and Lauren Wright were impressive up front, the latter unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
n KENDAL'S match with Nether hall could not go ahead because of a waterlogged pitch, but they were awarded the points as their opponents could not raise a side and now face a double header with fixtures against Ulverston (Cumbria) at the Lakes School on Saturday and Lancaster (Netherwood) at St Martin's on Sunday.
