Timperley 1 - Kendal 3...

KENDAL soundly beat Manchester side Timperley in their away clash in North West Division Five (North).

Kendal had the best of the play throughout and they generated so much pressure the home side's forwards were isolated for long periods.

Timperley began the game with ten men and Kendal were quick to take advantage, John Elleray scoring with a snap-shot a few minutes into the game when the ball broke to him.

A succession of near misses followed before Kendal lost striker Adam Young when a lifted ball smashed one of his fingers.

His departure and the subsequent reorganisation disrupted Kendal's attacking play but, shortly into the second half, Ewan Galloway made it two-nil with an opportunist's goal.

Timperley got their only goal of the game with a turnover of possession close to the area but Kendal's lead was restored by intelligent play by Mark Addison, who followed up a shot to tap in for the final goal of the game.

Some fine saves by goalkeeper Josh Chacko kept out a succession of Timperley attacks and the win sees Kendal moving back up the table in the right direction.

Lytham St Annes 4th 0- Windermere 1...

WINDERMERE continued their successful start to their North West Division Nine (North) season with an away victory over Lytham St Anne's 4ths on Saturday.

Playing on a water-based pitch at Blackpool, Windermere scored the only goal of the game just before the break when Scott Santamera cut in from the left wing and a quick exchange of passes created the space for Steve Heynes to finish at close range.

Lytham forced a series of short corners late in the game, but Windermere held firm and Mike Hodgson, Sam Crompton and Dave Spiby all had shots blocked by an, at times, desperate Lytham rearguard.

Windermere 3 -Carlisle 3...

ON SUNDAY, Windermere were in Cumbria Association action at Troutbeck Bridge against Carlisle.

The visitors caught Windermere napping with an early goal but after John Parry had crashed in a forceful equaliser, there was little between the sides and an eventual 3-3 draw was probably a fair result.
