KENDAL men's topsy turvy season in NW Division Five continued with a trip to West Derby. In truth the season has been more turvy than topsy and so it was again this week with a 5-2 defeat.
Although the Greens started brightly and played a good pass and move game in the early stages, the home team had patience. Three good chances and three well-taken goals saw West Derby go in comfortably ahead at half time.
The opening of the second half saw Kendal battle their way back in to the game. Liam Derome scored which was as memorable for his celebration as it was for the execution. As the good spell continued Nick Davis added to the Kendal tally and for a few short minutes a draw looked possible.
West Derby again played their patient game and as the Greens became frustrated the hosts again made the most of their opportunities and two quick goals settled the matter.
Kendal had great spells in the first and third quarters but let it all go to waste in the second and fourth.
This coming Saturday's game at home to Blackburn really is a must win if the Greens are to avoid the relegation word.
