WINDERMERE travelled away to face Dalston in the Cumbria League and came away with a disappointing result despite a good team performance.
Windermere started well but were caught out with a counter-attack as Dalston opened the scoring.
The visitors re-focussed and Carole Quill's strength in attack was proven with a thundering ball across the D to be met by Chelsey Daly, who scored the equaliser.
After the sides turned round at 1-1, the next 15 minutes of play saw some lovely hockey from Windermere with Mary Davies breaking down the Dalston attack and tipping the run of play back in her team's favour.
Helen Telford met a hair-line ball down the sideline from Quill and took towards the Dalston goalmouth, but could not convert the chance.
Windermere's bad luck continued when a couple of strikes at goal missed by inches while at the other end Dalston converted their chances to two further goals.
