IT WAS a bumper weekend for Windermere's hockey players.
The first team found themselves back on top of Division One of the North West Hockey League after a resounding victory away at Wigan.
While Windermere were busy taking all three points, title contenders Wilmslow suffered a shock defeat at home to Southport.
But Windermere had to do it the hard way by coming from behind after an early Wigan strike.
Will Dolman levelled the score for 'Mere with a superb drag flick.
This galvanised his team mates who piled on the pressure against a flagging Wigan who were struggling to keep up their early momentum.
Liam Derome put the away side in front before Richie Jackson sealed victory with a well-executed strike late on to take the final score to 3-1.
Will Dolman and Liam Derome shared the man of the match honours.
It was a similar story for Windermere's men in the North West Hockey League Division 5 clash at home to regional rivals Carlisle.
'Mere's second team twice came from behind to beat the much-fancied Carlisle second team in a close encounter at Troutbeck Bridge.
All four home goals came from short corners with Jason Balmer, man of the match Luke Blezard, Steven Dunlop and Ed Brownell all working their way onto the scoresheet.
