I am disappointed we didn’t get more than a point from Saturday’s game as we had some fantastic chances.
We had a lot of the ball in the first half and were unlucky to go in a goal down, especially as we were playing the type of football we like to play.
It has been the story of our season really but we were getting our passing done, despite looking a bit nervy on some occasions.
I asked a lot of Tom Newton today after a long rest and he did a good job standing in for David Newnes. We are hoping to be over some of the injuries this week as we have another big game at Worksop Town on Saturday.
We have brought in Danny Williams from Clitheroe and he did well in his first game for us. He will be crucial to us as we close in on the end of the season.
We also brought in Adam Carden for last Tuesday’s game against FC Halifax but he was missing for Buxton with an illness.
We have to have players playing who are fit and it was good to see Danny play the full match. I was chuffed to bits with him.
I think we will need 29 points from the remaining 15 games and I think it is possible for us to go and get them.
Lately the most frustrating thing for me has been Alex Taylor’s hernia injury. I stand by my comments that when Alex plays we play well and I hope to have him playing soon.
David Newnes should be training with us again on Thursday night and with any luck he will be in the starting line up at Worksop.
Worksop will be a tricky game and although we beat them here just a few weeks ago, they are above us in the table and a win would help us close on the play-offs once more.
