DANNY Rowe was sold to Fleetwood this week and we wish him well.
We sold Danny for a small fee but how much we get from the sale depends on his appearances and the goals he scores and we have a sell-on clause in the contract to get some money back.
We could have stood in Danny’s way and held on for a league club to come in for him but he goes with my blessing.
He is a fantastic player with brilliant ability and is the first real player I have sold on but I am sure it will be the first of many.
We launched the apprentice scheme at the start of November and we now have 22 who started and another 14 who are interested so it is going well.
We have a Christmas soccer camp on Monday and Tuesday (Dec 20/21) and have around 40 kids signed up for that so we are hoping to boost the apprentice scheme through it.
The club is going forward and we want to bring the local youth in to make it a community club.
We want to have a proper reserve side next year full of local talent and these apprentices will be pushing for that side.
Within the scheme we are meeting at Parkside Road on week nights and we are looking at coaching, media work and match analysis, but generally all areas of the game.
The key is that we have a mixed group with varied talent but they are all enjoying.
* Kendal Town’s Christmas Soccer Camp will be held at Parkside Road on Monday, December 20 and Tuesday, December 21. For details visit www.kendaltown.co.uk or email james_nichols@hotmail.co.uk
