WEplayed well in the FA Trophy on Saturday and have been looking good for a while, with some good performances.
It was disappointing we didn’t score more against Frickley Athletic but the lads have been great for a few games now.
Paul Lloyd came into the side and he is not 100 per cent fit yet but I have been after him for a while.
He is a winger and people know I like to play a flowing game with my men on the wings.
I believe he will be a fantastic acquisition and played well on Saturday.
The formation really worked against Frickley and the form we showed means we should have a similar line-up for the Bradford Park Avenue match this Saturday, dependent on availability.
Ashley Dunn had a great finish and has shown he can attack well in midfield since joining two weeks ago.
I have brought in Lloyd and Dunn to add to the squad and I certainly expect them to make an impact.
It was good to have Alex Taylor back for the Trophy tie and he makes a big difference to the side and we miss him.
He only got half a game but it was a good contribution.
Matlock will prove a difficult match in the next round, but we have beaten one side from our league in the competition now and we are at home which always helps.
The £2,200 we won from beating Frickley certainly helps the club and it will go into the right places and I’m sure the chairman will be pleased with the funds.
This week will start a really big month for the club which could make or break the season.
Bradford are a side who will do well and from now until the end of November we have to show we can make progress, both in the cups and the league.
In November we need to win at least three league games and aim to stay in the cups.
Bradford and Northwich are two big sides and they will be up there.
We need to get something from the games to show we can be up there too.
