A SUPERB display from the Ulverston Victoria High School boys team at the British Schools’ Orienteering Championships has earned them a call up to the World School Championships.
The championships will be held in Primiero near Trentino, Italy, in May and the boys team were selected after Tom Spencer finished ninth and Will Rigg tenth.
Their team mates also finished 14th, 16th, 19th, 22nd and 23rd to earn their place in the British squad.
Natalie Beadle from Cartmel Priory was 6th in the girls race, which was won by Cockermouth’s Katrina Hemmingway and Sarah Jones from St Bernards was fifth.
Ulverston’s Kirsten Bell will be a reserve for the British squad after finishing seventh in the Whippendell Woos near Watford.
