A DUO from Bowland Fell Runners were in top form at the Arnside Knott race on Sunday.
Sam Harrison came home first in a time of 39 minutes, five seconds, while his club colleague Steve Swarbrick was third in 39 minutes, 52 seconds.
The pair were separated by Matthew Briggs of Northumberland Fell Runners who finished just nine seconds behind the winner.
In the junior sections, Gus Campbell of Howgill Harriers was the winner in the U9 category, just pipping a trio of Ambleside runners in the shape of Joseph Green, Freddie Byrne and Magnus Foxwell.
Fellow Ambleside member Harbey Shaw won the U11 race and was followed home by his colleague Tom Ashworth with Will Bryashaw of Helm Hill Runners third.
IN the U13 category, Charlie Pickens of Calder Valley was victorious, just pipping another Ambleside duo in the shape of Alfie and Joshua Todd.
In the U15 section, Oliver Willoughby of Helm Hill Runners came home first.
Mike Gregory of Leven Valley Running Club was fourth with Phil Mather of Lonsdale Fell Runners coming in fifth.
The scenic course for this popular event, which is organised by Dallam Running Club, covers six miles and 1,093 feet of ascent.
And in calm conditions, it proved an enjoyable but testing event which saw 164 runners complete the course.
