NEWBIGGIN Paralympian Tom Young beat team-mate Sean Fraser into sixth in what could be his final action at the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park, London.
After a decent start, Young was last going into the final length, but he clawed back at Fraser to beat him into sixth by just five hundredths of a second.
Young clocked a time of 1.00.53, with Fraser 1.00.58.
Further up the field, Wang Yinan from China broke the world record to win gold.
Young could be in action in the 4x100m medley relay on Saturday if he is picked among the four-man team.
