EDEN paralympian Tom Young battled hard to finish fifth in the thrilling final of the SB7 100m breaststroke at the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park, London.
The six foot five 21-year-old, who was born with a club arm, did Cumbria proud with an inspiring swim, and looked to be in contention for a medal until around the last 25m.
Australian Blake Cochrane won gold and broke the world record in 1:18.77, while three-times Paralympic champion and Team GB hero Sascha Kindred also finished outside the medals in fourth place.
