JAMES Brock was crowned the champion of Sedbergh School's annual Wilson Run this afternoon, Tuesday.
The race started back in 1881 and Brock finished third on the 10 mile course last time out.
But rounding the course in 1.20.27 he went two better to lead the sixth form runners home.
Second place went to Hector Thompson in 1.21.03 with Ben Stewart third in 1.21.48.
Eilidh Sproul was the girls winner in 1.38.02 ahead of Alice Kerr in 1.43.24.
Many students struggled to finish the race due to the heat on the day, but winner Brock said the conditions were ideal for him.
He told The Westmorland Gazette: "It is fantastic really and an amazing feeling. I didn't think I would do it on a day like this. It is a bit hot but it is a really good race to win."
