CUMBERLAND were 61-3 off 24 overs in answer to Bedfordshire's first innings total of 288 in their Minor Counties three-day match at Sedbergh School on Sunday.
James Lowe took 5-75 as the pick of the Cumberland bowlers with Bedfordshire's Chris Stubbin 60, Oliver Clayson 48, and James Kettleborough 48 making the bulk of the runs.
Cumberland team manager Ian Sharp said: We did well to dismiss Bedfordshire for 288 on an excellent batting wicket but unfortunately through tiredness, and some excellent pace bowling with the new ball, we lost three wickets in the last session.
"Ourur batsmen will have to apply themsleves to get our score as close to Bedfordshire first innings as possible."
He continued: "Full credit to James Lowe, who deserved his five wickets with his off-breaks."
