KENDAL opened their North Lancashire Waterpolo League campaign with back to back wins - against Fleetwood and Preston.
At the start of June, Kendal travelled to Fleetwood and came away with a 15-7 victory.
Flying out of the blocks, Kendal were 6-1 up at the end of the first quarter with three well-worked goals from Matt Little.
Kendal allowed Fleetwood to get back into the match with unnecessary penalties and sloppy defending but further goals from Marc Robinson secured the win.
And their second league match saw a very physical encounter at home to Preston, but Kendal came out on top in a 13-8 victory.
Robinson, Dan Barker and James Mackareth put Kendal 3-0 to the good but the end of the first half saw Preston edge back as Kendal led 6-5.
Two Myles Little goals and another brace from Barker kept the visitors at bay as Kendal ensured a 100 per cent start.
Captain Darren Gibson said: “We started the games really well, our play was full of energy and desire which was good to see.
“We need to keep the momentum through the whole game if we are going to compete for silverware this year.”
Kendal’s next match is today at Lakes Leisure against Radcliffe.
* KENDAL’s Glen Robinson finished on the losing side as Great Britain lost 14-4 in Greece in a European Championships qualification match at the weekend.
Robinson had a good match despite the defeat and won eight of his swim offs for the ball against a talented Greek side.
The squad will fly out to Slovakia today for an invitational tournament against Slovakia, Romania and Slovenia before they face Georgia in Manchester in their final qualification match on July 2.
