SPORT across southern Cumbria and North Lancashire has been severely hit as the big freeze takes a grip on the area.
On Thursday night heavy snow fell and further downfalls on Friday have combined with icy conditions to postpone most of today's (Saturday) fixtures.
Already postponed are:
- Evo-Stik Premier League games, including Kendal Town v Matlock Town
- West Lancashire Football League - entire programme, including games involving Ambleside, Kendal County and Milnthorpe Corinthians
- Westmorland Football League - entire programme
- Coppermines Grizedale Stages Rally
- National League 2 North match between Kendal RUFC and Leicester Lions (However, the club on Shap Road will be open for drinks and the Barbarians match)
- KUKRI North West Men's Hockey League matches, including Urmston 3rds v Kendal and Bebington 2nds v GSK S Lakes
- Cyclo-cross Go Ride Youth Racing at Brockhole Visitor Centre, Windermere, has been cancelled
