CUMBERLAND lead Lincolnshire by 37 runs going into the second of the three days in their Minor Counties Championship match at Cleethorpes.
Cumberland were dismissed for 217 in 61.1 overs with skipper Gary Pratt top-scoring with 42. In reply, Lincolnshire were 180-5 after 49 overs at the close of play.
Ian Sharp, the Cumberland team manager, said: "The game is evenly poised but I am a little disappointed that we didn't score more runs after winnign the toss.
"Our bowlers stuck to their task and we had Lincolnshire at 114-4 but their fifth-wicket pair added over 50 runs.
"We need to take some wickets early tomorrow morning and restrict Lincolnshire's first innings total."
