CUMBERLAND fielded a team with four teenagers making their county first-team debut against Norfolk at Furness CC on Sunday.
After the first of the three-day Minor Counties Championship, Eastern Division game, Norfolk had piled up a first-innings total of 382-6 from 90 overs, with Cumberland 81-1 off 31 overs in reply.
Jonathan Miles was unbeaten on 40 for the hosts.
Norfolk's main run-scorers were James Spelman with 115, Sam Arthurton 86 and Harry Bush, 75 not out.
Simon Baer took 3-164 for Cumberland.
Ian Sharp, the Cumberland team manager, said: It was a good day's effort from all the players after Norfolk won the toss and elected to bat.
"We stuck to the task with excellent bowling and fielding and bossed the final session.
"I am delighted to have four Cumbrian teenagers in the side and making their debuts."
