A DEDICATED cricket coach to help budding "Freddy" Flintoffs reach their full potential is to swing into action in Eden.
Eden District Council agreed to put £2,500 towards meeting the cost of a full time coach to serve schools, clubs and community groups in the Eden and Carlisle areas under the community sports coaches scheme'.
EDC's pledge now covers the £24,000 a year wage for the coach, who will be in place for three years.
Various groups including Eden School Sports Partnership, Eden Valley Cricket League, Cumbria Cricket Board and Sport England have given the rest of the money.
