BACK to form Kirkby Lonsdale shattered any hopes CCM Dynamos had of retaining top spot in the North Lancashire League Premier Division.

Playing their best and most purposeful football of the season, Kirkby controlled the match and led 3-0 at half-time, Chris Vincent netting twice, once from the penalty spot with skilful Yassa Bojang adding the third.

Dynamos reduced the arrears from the penalty spot early in the second half, but Kirkby hit back immediately through Steve Wiggins for a final score of 4-1 to boost Kirkby to fourth in the table.

Storeys returned to the top spot by beating Morecambe Royals 4-1, but Cartmel's hope of edging up into the leading group was dashed by a 2-1 away defeat at Marsh United. Scott Burrows scored the Cartmel goal.

Division One SWARTHMOOR SC extended their lead at the top of the table thanks to an excellent 3-0 win over improving Slyne-Hest Reserves. Colin Woodburn cracked in two well-taken goals and Graham Wilcock was also on target.

Arnside secured a rare point when they held Ingleton Reserves to a 1-1 draw, Steve Pearson equalising after Dave Baren had scored for Ingleton.

Millhead were outplayed for most of their game with Galgate, but Jamie Wakeman managed a consolation goal in the 3-1 scoreline.

Division Two ALLITHWAITE Rangers won their second game of the season in Division Two, beating Caton Reserves 3-1, Craig Benson (2) and Luke Foster scoring their goals.

Carnforth Ranges moved to within two points of leaders Bolton-le-Sands by with a 2-1 victory over third-placed Freehold. Danny Econ and Alec Gorton were on target for Rangers.

Bottom of the table Kirkby Lonsdale Rangers took a 1-0 lead against Holme Athletic through a Lee Dickinson goal and held on until midway through the second half when Lee Illingworth equalised. Ten minutes from time Joe Mather added a winner for Holme.

Swarthmoor Reserves' downward spiral continued with a 3-1 defeat by Marsh United Reserves, Jamie Donald hitting the target for Moor.

Arnside Reserves started with 10 men against Torrisholme Reserves who led 2-0 at half-time. Restored to full-strength after the interval Arnside took charge and won 4-2, thanks to Shaun Tierney and a Peter Hennedy hat-trick.

Bolton-le-Sands suffered a third defeat in four matches, losing 4-2 to Trimpell. Nathan Downham and Michael Presswood were the Sands goalscorers.

Division Three MILLHEAD Reserves closed the gap at the top to one point with a 5-3 away win at Moorlands. Matthew Sprules, Robert Wood (2), Matthew leader and Adam Dufton netted for Millhead. Victory came despite veteran keeper David Law (39) being sent off for a professional foul his first card of any colour in his long career.

Burton Thistle Reserves could not stop Gregson extending their unbeaten run to five games. Thistle lost 3-1, Dave Cross scoring their goal.

Grange Reserves and Galgate Reserves, both without a win so far had to settle for a point each from a 2-2 draw. Grange led 2-0 at half-time through Dave Grundy and David Ainsworth, but Galgate benefited from the strong wind in the second half to draw level.

Division Four BOLTON-le-Sands Reserves moved to second in Division Four by beating Bentham Reserves 4-2. Gareth Chamberlain, Darren Postlethwaite and Steve Metcalfe (2) did the damage, with Danny Jackson and Danny Ellershaw replying for Bentham.

Table-topping Poulton United maintained their unbeaten record by beating Carnforth Reserves 5-3. Rob Pearcy and Mark Jones (2) scored for Carnforth.

Cup matches FIRST Division Cartmel Reserves progressed to the second round of the Westmorland Junior Cup with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Lunesdale United Reserves. Veteran Alan Brown opened the scoring with Matt Burrow (2) and Tony Newall adding the other goals.

Burton Thistle edged past Bentham in the Holdens/Gibson First Division cup with a 4-3 victory after extra time.

Thistle were more workmanlike and scored through Darren Taylor, Chris Plevey and Mark Taylor (2), including the extra-time winner.

Under-strength Bentham had player-manager Graham Cochrane in goal and goalscorers were Gary Louth, Jame Earnshaw and Stuart Ralph.
