SPEEDY winger Gary Prosser has returned to the Kendal Town. Prosser, who played two seasons for Town before departing for a spell with GSK Ulverston Rangers in the West Lancashire League, re-signed last week.
"It could well be that he gets some action in the next two or three games," said Town boss Tony Hesketh. "He is a capable lad with a lot of pace."
"We have one or two injury problems, to sort out before this weekend's trip to Belper and Tuesday night's away match at Rossendale," added Hesketh.
"Keeper Mark Thornley and Dene Whittal-Williams are both 50-50, while Kenny Mayers played on Tueday night despite a recurring back problem, and until he has seen a specialist we will not know if he is available.
"Meanwhile, I have released Lee Clitheroe. He has had four or five starts with us, but did not recapture the form I know he is capable off. I couldn't see him featuring in the near future, but at 26 he needs first team football and he has gone to Bamber Bridge.
"We were like our old selves against Kidsgrove on Tuesday night. We played some fantastic football, but I don't know why it was - there has been no lack off effort.
"It just clicked and I thought Lee Ashcroft was instrumental in many of the good things about us in the first half. He had a free role and when he is on the ball he is a very creative player.
"Kilford and Mercer probed from midfield and were also very effective and Foster took his goal superbly well. It sealed the victory, as it gave us a three-goal cushion.
"We haven't had that sort of advantage for many months now and there was a sigh of relief, although it was expected that the second half would not follow the same pattern as we had already given it everything.
"By contrast it was a poor day for football at Willenhall on Saturday with a gale-force wind blowing down the middle of the open pitch. Good football was difficult and at half time there was nothing between the teams.
"We had our best ten minutes at the start of the second half. Foster had a shot which was well saved, but Willenhall then broke out and scored twice in 10 minutes which killed us.
"They are a very workmanlike side, very low on skill and flair, but very high on effort and they will probably win the league."
