KIRKBIE Kendal School has received the prestigious Charter Standard award from The Football Association.
To gain the award the school had to provide evidence that pupils had the opportunity to attend coaching sessions during and after school time and also had the chance to represent the school in organised football matches.
It also had to show that it had links to a local junior football club so that the pupils had the chance to play at the weekends.
Benefits the school will receive from it's Charter Standard status include: tickets to England women's and youth international matches; free equipment; exclusive competitions; and use of the FA's Charter Standard logo on school literature. In addition, if the school wishes to apply for a Football Foundation facility grant the award will enhance chances of success.
