"DEFEAT by Belper was disappointing considering the good result the week before at Ossett as that win gave us a good chance to put space between ourselves and the chasing pack for that play-off place.

"It wasn't to be, however, and we were well below par and it is not easy to put a finger on just why, but you are judged over a season's performances and I still think we are in touch and very optimistic.

"One bad result is not going to sour the season and we are still very confident that we can string a set of results together that will at least get us through to the play-offs.

"Nigel Taylor (central defender) has fully recovered and will be in contention for a place. Dene Whittal-Willams (utility player) was on the bench last week after serving a week's suspension the week before so he will be looking to return.

"Peter Smith (winger) has recovered fully from his rib problem and again he will be in contention for a return so there is every chance we will be back to more or less the side which was very effective in that nine or ten game spell before Christmas when we scored a hatful of goals.

"This weekend we are away to Willenhall who are the form team in the league. They are a good side, the best we have played this season in my opinion, and it will be a tough game.

"But we don't draw too many games, we win or lose, which I still feel is the best policy.

"Too many drawn games can cost you and we are hoping to pick up three points on Saturday.

"I am, however, concerned that we have lost our way a wee bit at home. Our last home victory was on December 4 against Willenhall and that's nearly three months.

"Although we have not played too many at home, our league form has dipped and that is something we will be looking to remedy against Kidsgrove on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm)."
