SOUTH Lakes based athletes Lee Siemaszko and Mark Roberts were key members of Borrowdale Fell Runners' record-breaking winning team at the Pennine Bridleway Relay, which took place at Waterfoot, Rossendale.
Siemaszko was also fastest overall on the second leg.
In the dry, but cold conditions, Borrowdale completed the 47-mile/ 6,300ft event run in pairs over five legs event in a time of 4hr 56min 37sec, slicing 14 minutes off the previous course record.
Horwich, last year's winners and previous record holders, were second in 5-04-15 with Clayton Vets third in 5-05-41.
