AT LAST there was a point for Milnthorpe Corinthians that was very nearly all three in a 1-1 draw with Millom.

This was quite an open game in the Aegon West Lancs League first division, with Millom hitting the bar twice in the first half and keeper Russ Sharpe stopping everything the visitors threw at him.

Corinthians came close from consecutive free kicks with Bobby Walsh and then Aidan Caswell denied by the Millom keeper.

The second half started with Corinthians on top and they were awarded a penalty when Aidan Caswell was dumped in the area by the keeper, who was very fortunate to at least not be booked.

Paul Brooks stroked the ball into the net to give Corinthians the lead.

Millom then went on the attack but were again denied by Sharpe and some last-ditch defending.

With only about five minutes to go, Millom got the equaliser they deserved from Carl Waters to end the game all square.
