CROSS-COUNTRY: Jos Addison, who a year ago underwent surgery for a brain tumour, claimed the Minor Boys title at the Cumbria Schools' Cross Country Championships at Kirkby Stephen on Saturday.
Jos, aged 12, was one of two individual winners from Kirkbie Kendal School with Gemma Crowther taking the intermediate girls race.
Chloe Rodham from Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale, led all the way in the Senior girls until Katie Savage from Barrow Sixth Form College pipped her right on the finish line.
Alistair Russell (Queen Katherine) was runner-up in the Senior boys race.
