KENDAL are up to seventh in the National League 3 North table after an excellent 23-8 away win at Rugby Lions.
Rugby opened the scoring with Allan Mitchell slotting over a third-minute penalty goal and they went further ahead on 11 minutes with scrum- half Scott Glendenning Fenton touching down for an unconverted try and an 8-0 lead.
Leading 3 North try scorer John Ladell started the Kendal comeback on the half-hour with a try that Martin Armstrong created and Dan Stephens converted.
Two penalty goals from Stephens enabled Kendal to turn round 13-8 ahead at half time.
Kendal then imposed themselves again to earn another Stephens penalty goal and sealed victory when the other Ladell twin, Luke, went in for a try and Stephens converted again.
Kendal's win was vital because most of the bottom sides won, apart from Cleckheaton.
Kendal now prepare for a home meeting with New Brighton this coming Saturday (2pm kick-off).
