Colwyn Bay 0, Kendal Town 1.
A solitiary strike midway through the first half by Kendal's top goalscorer Kenny Mayers helped his side to a £1,800 pay-day.
That was the prize for winning this FA Trophy first round match against fellow UniBond League First Division opponents Colwyn Bay.
It needed some fine saves by keeper Mark Thornley to keep Kendal in the cup, however, and their reward is the chance of a £3,000 pay day in the second round.
To cash in they will need to beat UniBond Premier Division high-fliers Hyde United at home on Saturday November 27.
A quirk of fate means that Town will first face Hyde away next Monday having drawn them in second round of the UniBond League President's Cup.
Tomorrow night Town have more cup action at home to North West Counties League favourites Fleetwood Town in the second round of the Marsden BS Lancashire Senior Cup.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
