KENT Valley Road Club's Lynn Hamel finished third in last weekend's National Women's Hill Climb Championship near Otterburn in the North East.
The 19-year-old Oxenholme rider covered the 2.2 miles long climb, that included a section of 1-in-6 gradient, in 8mins 53.1secs, less than 24 seconds behind winner Ann Bowditch of Guernsey Velo.
Lynn finished 86th overall, the men's event being won by French-based roadman Jonathan Dayus in a time of 6mins 33.8secs.
Nether Kellet rider Ben Greenwood of Recycling.co.uk/MG-X Power clocked 6-43.6 for a fine fifth place, beating Danny Axford of Oxford University who had beaten him by 12 seconds in the British Students championship climb of the previous week.
