THREE Kendal tries in four minutes right at the end of the match could not salvage a bonus point away to Darlington Mowden Park in National League 2 on Saturday.
After losing prop Richard Harryman to injury, Kendal trailed 11-3 at half time with Dan Stephens kicking a penalty for them.
Mowden Park then increased their advantage to 26-3 before Kendal staged a late revival.
Tries from the Ladell brothers Luke and Jon within a minute of each other breathed life into Kendal's effort and then Simon Mulholland added a third in injury time to take them within reach of a bonus point (awarded if finishing within seven points), but Mowden hit back with a drop-goal to deny them that consolation.
Kendal's are at home to Waterloo from National 2 in the Powergen Cup on Saturday (2.15pm kick-off).
