David Foster scored a hat-trick and Michael Jack got his first goal as Kendal Town progressed to the second round of the FA Vase at the expense of Clitheroe.
Foster struck just five minutes into the game with a fine volley from the edge of the area, but the home side levelled on 15 minutes when Town keeper Mark Thornley parried a shot into the path of Paul Stansfield.
For the remainder of the half Town barraged the Clitheroe goal, but without success.
In the second half the pressure told, however and on 50 minutes Kenny Mayers flicked a ball to Foster who rounded the 'keeper to make it 2- A great ball in from Peter Smith saw Foster complete his hat-trick With the tie virtually in the bag manager Tony Hesketh made some substitutions and Jack scored with his first kick of the night.
Town now hope to make it three wins in a row and move near to the top of the UniBond League First Division when Warrington Town visit Parkside on Tuesday evening. Kick-off 7.45pm.
