The new Cumbria Cross-Country Series starts at Cockermouth on Saturday.
The series comprises four low-key cross-country races aimed at encouraging new runners to try cross-country while providing serious racers with an opportunity to fine-tune their training and racing skills.
Medals are to be awarded at the end of the series with the best three runs from four counting. All runners finishing the series will receive a medal.
The Cockermouth event starts from Cockermouth School with the first race at noon and the senior race off at 1.30pm. The entry fee is £1.
The next venue in the series will be Keswick (Fitz Park) on November 13, with the other locations to be confirmed.
