THE Lakes Riding Club's senior and junior teams covered themselves in glory at the British Riding Clubs' National Finals at Lincoln.
The Lakes' senior open showjumping team comprised of Beth Sutcliffe, Simon Buckley, Jane Clark and Ken Drysdale took top honours by a handsome margin after completing two rounds of three double clears.
Individually there were top-10 placings for Sutcliffe (fifth), Buckley (seventh) and Drysdale (eighth).
The Lakes' senior novice dressage team just finished out of the main placings, but Jane Butler was sixth individual.
The success continued in the juniors when the showjumping team of Camilla Sharples, Sophie Noon, Georgina Turner and Nicola Rigby won their section after a thrilling jump-off.
Samantha Magennis won the individual open showjumping.
The riding test team of Camilla Sharples, Sophie Noon, Sarah Robinson and Megan Tomlinson were runners-up.
Noon and Robinson won their arenas individually with Ruth Turner 10th.
The dressage team - same personnel as the riding test - were also runners-up with Noon winning her arena and Robinson placed third.
Noon and Robinson combined to be third in a close competiton for the pairs dressage.
Overall, it was an stunning day of successes and a memorable way to bring the season to a close.
Lakes RC expressed thanks to team secretaries Judith Parkes and Sheila Rigg and to parents and organisers for a superb weekend that went without a hitch.
