IT'S CUP week for local clubs with Kendal Town FC in FA Cup action at home to Prescot Cables from the UniBond Premier Division in the first qualifying round tie at Parkside on Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Town are set to travel to Chorley for a return to league action in the first division of the UniBond League on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
THE Westmorland FA Invitation Trophy, an early trophy opportunity for local footballers, take place between Wetheriggs and Kendal County at Parkside on Wednesday evening (7.30pm).
THE cup theme continues in rugby with Kendal RUFC hosting Longton from the Potteries in the first round of the Powergen Cup, with a 3pm kick-off at Mint Bridge on Saturday.
KIRKBY Lonsdale have a quick rematch with Upper Eden in the Powergen Intermediate Rugby Union Cup, while Windermere are at home to Whitehaven in the Powergen Junior Vase (3pm kick-offs).
