Spalding 3, Kendal Town 0.
Kendal's longest trip in the UniBond League First Division ended in disappointment as Spalding's Liam Nimmo scored a hat-trick and Town's Lee Ashcroft was dismissed for head-butting the home keeper.
Nimmo scored in the second minute, slipping a rebound from the crossbar past keeper Lee Ward.
Town went further behind on 21 minutes, Ward only managing to deflect a soft Nimmo shot into the net.
In the 62nd minute Spalding keeper Brett Chittock shouldered Ashcroft as they tussled for the ball and the Kendal player reacted by head-butting him, only to get a straight red card for violent conduct.
Down to 10-men, Town at last got going and Dene Whittal-Williams handed them a chance of getting something from the game when he blasted in a solo effort on 76 minutes.
Any hope was snuffed out just two minutes later when Nimmo, unmarked at the back post, completed his hat-trick.
Now Town must try and get their season back on track when they entertain Rossendale United at Parkside tomorrow night, kick-off 7.45pm.
