GOALKEEPER Mark Thornley's dismissal for a 53rd-minute foul, with Kendal already two goals down on Saturday, put paid to any hopes of recovery although the final scoreline was a little harsh.
Final score was North Ferriby 6 - Kendal Town 0.
Town fielded the same side that had won 4-0 at Warrington the previous Tuesday, but physical Ferriby side were a different prospect.
Even so Kendal had the best early chances, all from corners as Lee Ashcroft headed over, Dene Whittal-Williams struck the post and Kenny Mayers got the slightest of touches to head across the face of goal.
Instead Ferriby went ahead after 20 minutes thanks to a Rob Dewhurst header from a corner. When Graham Botham nodded in a second on 37 minutes some of the Kendal team began to lose their cool, Paul McMenemy being fortunate not to receive a yellow card for throwing the ball at the referee.
Kendal tried to push forward and Russ McKenna wasted a fine pass across the goalmouth from Mayers by knocking the ball in with his arm, which brought him a caution.
Disaster struck eight minutes into the second half when Thornley brought down Gary Bradshaw in the penalty box and the referee had no hesitation in producing the red card.
Midfielder Dave Woodruffe stepped in to replace Thornley and Carl Fothergill put away the ensuing penalty, and at 30 down Kendal's 10 men had no way back.
An Anthony Bowsley free-kick rattled Town's bar on 57 minutes and a minute later Fothergill headed in his second goal from Bradshaw's cross to make it 40.
Ricky Mercer made his his first league appearance for Town by replacing Dave Burrows on 61 minutes.
Stand-in keeper Woodruffe then fouled a Ferriby player in the 76th minute and handed the home side another penalty from which Fothergill completed his hat-trick.
Kendal tempers threatened to flare up and Ferriby appeared to play on it at every opportunity.
On 86 minutes Ferriby added to the visitors' discomfort with a good strike from Bradshaw giving them a six goal.
