THE FIRST five Preston wickets fell for only six runs on the board as the rampant Kendal pace bowlers set up an easy seven-wicket win in the NPL on Saturday.
Kevin Howarth and Kabir Khan took 6-32 and 4-25 respectively to dismiss the home side for 65 in under 30 overs.
Howarth's second ball started the collapse and two more scalps followed in his next over.
After Khan had Pakistan professional Akbar lbw, Howarth claimed another victim.
By this stage Howarth had taken 4-5 and Preston never recovered, though their last-wicket pair added 26 with Parekh top-scoring with 29.
Kendal lost Ikram Ullah off the third ball of their reply and Terry Hunte went for 14 with the score on 25.
Khan's unbeaten 36, with support from Gareth Ashburner and Dan George, steered them to a six-hit finish at 69-3 in 23.4 overs.
