WITH two games still to play in the Thwaites North Lancashire and Cumbria League Furness are champions. They dismissed Whitehaven for 111, Narsingh Deonarine scoring 44 while Stuart Horne returned 5-40, Wilem du Toit 3-28 and Phil Graham 2-12.
Furness lost seven wickets in scoring a winning 115, du Toit making an undefeated 53 with Mark Daly supporting with 23. Habib Baloch took 4-27.
Cleator, with a 22-point lead over Workington, look favourites for the runner-up position despite losing by 41 runs at Lindal.
The home side took first knock and scored 127, Colin Knight making 47 and Elsroy Powell taking 6-7.
Cleator were then dismissed for 86, Esuan Carndon taking 5-32, John Atkinson 3-23 and Colin Knight 2-24.
Workington could only manage a losing draw at relegation-threatened Vickerstown. The home side scored 161, skipper Phil Thompson making 64 not out and opener Peter Reynolds 31. Spinner Simon James returned 5-13.
Workington then struggled to 81-6, Kenroy Peters taking 3-7 and Colin Lucas 2-9.
Millom ensured that Carlisle stay anchored in bottom place, beating their visitors by 141 runs. Millom smashed 216-4, Travis Dowlin blasting 114 and fellow opener Ryan Brown 43.
Carlisle were shot out for 75, Dowlin taking 4-25 and Dominic Connor 3-17.
Haverigg came away from Keswick with a seven-wicket win after the home side scored 181-4, Majid Jahangir scoring 55, Chris D'Laney 41 not out and John Mason 40.
Junior Mitcham cracked 118 in Haverigg's winning 182-3.

n BARROW hosted fourth-placed Northern Premier League side Darwen and lost by six wickets.
Batting first, Barrow scored 170-9, professional Rawl Lewis top-scoring with 53, supported by 32 from Ian Kermode. A Mercer took 6-64.
Darwen replied with a winning 171-4, former Millom and Vickerstown star Kevin Sample top-scoring with 45 not out. Lewis took 2-55 and Darryl Wearing 2-48.
