WITH the scores tied on 213 Fleetwood snatched a Thwaites Cup victory from Kendal by virtue of having lost fewer wickets.
Kendal won the toss on Sunday and elected to bat.
Opener Ikram Ullah made 30 before being bowled, but the bulk of Kendal's runs came from No 4 Kabir Khan and No 6 Kevin Howarth who scored 69 apiece, Khan's knock included six fours and two sixes before he was bowled by T. Blundell, while Howarth smashed nine fours and a six before being caught by Marillier off Blundell.
The innings closed on 213-6 and looked good enough for victory despite there being plenty of runs in the wicket.
In reply, Fleetwood batted solidly if unspectacularly, with the top six batsmen making scored ranging from 43 to 29 not out as they eased their way to 213-5 in the 39th over to claim victory.
