OPENER Danny Welbourne hit an undefeated 134 in Netherfield Seconds' Northern League Division Two match with St Anne's Seconds. It was his second 134 on the trot.

He hit eight fours and three sixes form 126 balls in his 96 minute stay at the wicket as his side reached 255-5 from their 50 overs.

Steve Bickerstaffe scored 106 before being run out in the St Anne's reply, but with P., Hartley taking 4-55, the home side could not reach the target, although they held out for a losing draw on 209-9.

n FIVE wickets by bowler Andrew Dugdale helped Kendal Seconds to a three-wicket victory over Blackpool Seconds in Division Two of the Northern League.

The visitors were on 99-2 and looking for a big score when Dugdale struck to remove P. Sidebottom (22) and break up a developing partnership with N. Thompson (41), who was then bowled by T. Barton to suddenly change the complexion of the innings at 99-4.

A run out then reduced Blackpool to 101-5 and Dugdale then ran through the tail to finish with figures of 5-45.

Set to make 153 Kendal were put on course by opener P., Ellwood (47) and No 3 P. Dowker (38) and small contributions from the middle order saw them home on 154-7 in the 40th over.

n KENDAL Seconds took full advantage of a good home pitch to progress in the Northern Premier league Second Division Cup at the expense of Fleetwood Seconds on Sunday.

Winning the toss Kendal opted to bat and it proved a wise decision as opener C. Caswell (47) and P. Ellwood (60) coming in at first wicket down put on stand of 74 to put the home side in charge at 114-2. Solid contributions from the middle order, P. Dowker (25), G. Baker (32) and K. Williams (26) helped lift the innings total to 232-8.

In reply Fleetwood could only muster an all out total of 114 as A. Caswell took 4-20, including a hat-trick to dismiss the last three men.
