BOWLERS Kabir Khan and Kevin Howarth served up a 64-run Northern League victory for Kendal.

Batting first against Blackpool Kendal openers Ikram Ullah and Geroge Ashburner had both departed caught behind by Cragg off bowler J. Kreusch with 12 runs on the board.

Terry Hunte, with six fours in an innings of 34 and Simon Little, 24, steadied the ship, but and when the usually prolific Kabir Khan went for 17 to the same Cragg-Kreusch trap the innings looked decidedly rocky at 108-5.

Fortunately Kevin Howarth was able to graft away for two hours to score 76 not out, as the tail tumbled around him for a handful of runs.

In the end Kendal hung on to see out their full 57 overs on 191-9.

In reply, youngster James Rafferty toiled at one end for no reward for seven overs, but Khan turned on the style to remove the four top order batsmen by the time the scoreboard had reached 80.

It was still anybody's match, however, but a bowling change brought Howarth on in place of Rafferty and the two experienced men began to tie up the seasiders.

Howarth struck three times in three overs, as 80-4 became 106-7. An over break followed before he grabbed two mote wickets in consecutive overs, to record final figures of 5-26 from 12 overs, leaving Khan to polish of the final wicket for 5-58 from 19.1 overs.
