NETHERFIELD professional Dale Benkenstein grabbed 7-31 as Chorley were knocked sideways in the Northern Premier League clash at Parkside Road on Saturday.

Chorley were shot out for just 58 in 25.3 overs with only opener Tom Smith, on 28 not out, reaching double figures.

Earlier, Netherfield opener Craig Walmsley had cracked a top-scoring 104 to put the home side on the way to an impressive 239-8 total off a rain-reduced 53 overs.

There was support from skipper Tommmy Prime, 32, Gareth White, 21, and Benkenstein, 24.

The comprehensive 181-run victory consolidates Netherfield's place at the top going into Sunday's matches in a special league double-header of games.

Kendal were also in winning form, taking 12 points, in a five-wicket win over Lancaster at Shap Road.

Professional Kabir Khan was great value for his 6-30 that put the skids under Lancaster, who were eventually all out for 113 in 35.5 overs.

Professional Rennier Munnik, 54, was the man to get out and once he went only Lee Sparks, 27, got hold of the bowling as there were five ducks in the innings.

Kevin Howarth provided a fine bowling partner for Khan with 3-39.

Kendal lost five wickets on the way to victory with Ikram Ullah, 41, laying the foundations and Simon Little, 36, shepherding them to within sight of the objective which came up at 114-5 in 26.2 overs.
