CUMBRIA Youth Games will be held in Allerdale on Saturday, June 26 at three venues.
The event is the largest multi-sport participation event for young people in Cumbria and this year over 900 participants aged from 9-16 from all six local authority areas will take part.
Over the last few months qualifying rounds have been taking place in the local authority areas and the winning teams will represent their district in the final.
The competition will include athletics, basketball, boccia, football, hockey, netball, rugby league, rugby union, tennis and cycling.
County councillor Joan Stocker, cabinet spokesperson for education, said: "It is fabulous for young people to come together and take part in a high-profile competition."
Richard Johnston, sports and recreation officer for Cumbria Sport added: "The event is aimed at spectators as well as competitors. There will be entertainment and further attractions for families throughout the day."
