HAVERIGG are the now leaders of the Thwaites Beers North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League Premier Division following a four-wicket win over Vickerstown.

Vickerstown batted first and were dismissed for 125, opener Peter Reynolds scoring 48 and stumper Gary McGlown 31 not out. Steven Evans returned 4-27 in a Vickerstown innings that included six ducks.

The winning home reply was 126-6 with Junior Mitcham 57 not out and Tony Johnson 28, Millom visited Keswick and had to settle for a losing draw after the home side scored 269-3, Majid Jahangir hitting 153 while Keswick schoolboy, 14-year-old fellow opener Steven Hindmarsh scored a maiden half-century with 63 in an opening stand of 188.

In reply Millom could only manage 204-7. Travis Dowlin 66 and Barney Arnold 46.

Whitehaven moved into third after beating Wigton by four wickets. Wigton scored 181-9, Geoffrey Toyana making 111 of them.

Whitehaven's winning score was 182-4, Narsingh Deoranine 60 not out and Robert Smith 61 for a six-wicket victory.

Furness entertained Cleator and, batting first, scored 262-6, G I. Capstick hitting 89, skipper Alan Sippy 68 and John Wild 42.

Cleator reached 177-9 in reply, for a losing draw. David Rooney made 45 at number 10.

Lindal Moor travelled to Carlisle and batted first to score 146-9 with Wayne Herbert top-scoring with 42. In reply Carlisle could only muster 130-7 for a losing draw, Graeme Ion made 51 and Eusan Crandon returned 6-32.

Workington faced Cockermouth who batted first and scoring 123-7. Riffat Ullah made 42 and Craig Moffall returned 3-32.

The home side cruised to a winning 126-2, Andy Reed scoring 68 and Gary James 42 for an eight-wicket win.

BAE Systems SC retained pole position in Division One with a seven-wicket home win against Appleby Eden to keep the newcomers firmly in place on the bottom.

Batting first, the visitors were 162 all out, Phil Brabbins scoring 54 and Pushpakumara returning 3-34. Stephen Boyde top-scored with 49, Terry Marshall made 47 and Pushpakumara 45 not out in a winning total of 163-3.

Carnforth batted first at home to Duddon SC, scoring 184, Darren Moore scoring 70.

In reply Duddon fell 12 runs short with 172. Keith Hibbert made 57 and Chris Brookshaw 33, Darren Nelson took 4-47.

Cleator A hosted the visit of Ulverston and beat their visitors by 63 runs after making 170-9, Steve Wilson 45 and Stuart Cooper taking 4-35.

Ulverston were then dismissed for 107, Stuart Cooper making 26 and Gareth Yates 25, Steve Haywood returning 4-31.

Dalton displayed their determination to return to Premier cricket with an eight-wicket drubbing of Egremont after dismissing them for 86. Justin Quint took 6-21, In their winning 87-2 Quint scored 40 not out and Billy Hughes 33, Kirkby visited Penrith and came away with a two-wicket win after the home side had made 182-9, Mark Osborne 58 not out. Mark Etchells 6-47. Kirkby made 186-8 in reply. Paul Tyson hitting 41, and Mike Etchells 36.
