INGLETON took a firm grip of the Craven FA Morrison Cup final, to beat Skipton LMS 2-0 at Barnoldswick on Friday evening.
Starting brightly, Ingleton went close to scoring early on and put Skipton on the back foot with flowing, adventurous football.
Skipton only occasionally looked dangerous and Ingleton deservedly took a 35th-minute lead with a well-taken goal from Teddy Harrison.
The second half started the same as the first with Ingleton pressing forward and after seven minutes Jonathan Boadle doubled their lead when he broke in from the left and shot into the top right-hand corner of the net for a goal fit to grace any cup final.
By this stage Ingleton were in total control and should have scored further goals but settled for the 2-0 victory, Ben Jackson winning the man of the match award.
Mid-table Cartmel Reserves took a hand in the promotion stakes in Division One of the North Lancashire League.

Phil Gillette netted his first goal of the season and Stuart Taylor also scored as Cartmel won 2-1, Westgate Wanderers being promoted at Torrisholme's expense.
In Division Two, Swarthmoor had to struggle to achieve promotion. Having lost their last two games they entertained Holme Athletic on Saturday knowing that they must win. Holme controlled much of the play and went ahead through an own goal, but Swarthmoor scrambled a 2-1 victory with goals by Stuart Shaw and Danny Leach.
'Moor had a far easier time of it on Monday when they thrashed Westgate Rangers 10-0. Goalscorers were Graham Wilcock (3), Gavin Jolley (2), John Rattigan, Danny Leach (3) and Stuart Shaw.
