WHEELBASE riders Paul Trott (right) and Stuart Reid are heading off for an Alpine adventure this summer.
The pair have teamed up to train and race some major events. Stuart will be racing all the National Cross Country races as well as trying to retain the Fred Whitton title he took last year in the 114-mile race over all the Lakeland passes.
Paul will be riding the National Trailquest series and is tipped for selection to the British team for the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships to be held in Australia this year.
Their main focus in the summer will be the awesome Trans-Alp Race, an eight-day stage race, mainly off-road, across the Alps from southern Germany to northern Italy.
Paul rode the event last year with Martin Andrew and the pair were the first UK team in 38th place out of 500 teams.
This year Paul and Stuart hope to finish in the elite' 25.
Paul won the Cross Cumbrian Trailquest event out of Staveley on Sunday to put him in the lead of six-race series.
The riders are sponsored by Wheelbase; Gore and Endra Bikewear, the North Face, Hope Technology and Trek Bikes UK and can be contacted through Paul on 01539 735192.
